What the extra 24 inches changes
PR720F offers approximately 86 percent more running length than PR700, calculated from 52 versus 28 inches. The extra length can matter when a compact dog still has a long front-to-rear reach during movement. Neither that calculation nor the larger weight limit proves fit for an individual dog. Both tracks remain 16 inches wide, so moving up this model range does not resolve a width concern.
If you are choosing only because the PR700 is labeled for toy breeds, pause to obtain the actual sizing guidance. Breed categories and weight labels do not capture every body shape. For a household with two dogs, record each dog separately; do not assume the smaller dog’s successful fit establishes suitability for the other one. The relevant question is which machine meets each animal’s requirements at the intended pace.

Both current pages start the range at 1 mph
PR720F does not gain a slower published minimum when it gains belt length. That makes starting speed a separate decision. If a professional has specified a pace below either machine’s available minimum, additional belt room alone will not make that equipment meet the requirement.
GoPet lists gradual start and remote control on both models. We have not measured their acceleration curves or compared a new revision with an older unit. Ask the seller to demonstrate startup and identify the emergency stop procedure using the exact model you would receive. A familiar brand name does not remove the need to learn that machine’s controls.
Folding is useful only with a workable moving route
PR720F’s upright fold can help with storage, but the unit is listed at 100 pounds. Plan where it will run and where it will be stored, then check the route between those places. A doorway, step or thick floor transition can matter more than an appealing folded photograph. Request folded dimensions and the manufacturer’s moving instructions rather than assuming one person can reposition it.
The current PR720F page lists an 11-inch unit height. Confirm the full installed height with side structures and controls before planning a shelf or low-clearance location. PR700’s present page gives shipping dimensions instead of a complete assembled footprint; those shipping numbers should not become the rectangle in your room plan.
How to handle used machines and older manuals
An older manufacturer manual in the existing evidence set has different speed and dimension entries from the current pages. Do not average those numbers or select whichever fits your room. Request the serial or model-label photograph and the manual supplied with the particular machine. This is especially important when comparing a used PR700 with a newly listed PR720F.
Our conditional preference is PR720F when a confirmed need for additional running length justifies its larger operating and moving requirements. PR700 remains a candidate when its shorter belt is demonstrably sufficient and its exact revision works for the intended use. For either, confirm parts availability, maintenance instructions and who pays freight during a warranty claim. The one-year headline does not answer those ownership questions.
